How long it has been since I last laid eyes on the worn steel of a barricade. To taste the humid air, and rub bloody, sweat drenched arms against the hundreds of rabid bodies screaming for the eyes of their favorite road dog; it’s what I live for. With that in mind, it’s time for me to venture out, into the cold upstate NY air this March, to wait in line for hours and spill my guts to like-minded concert goers. This year will be even more intense than the last, and I’m more ready than ever.

First show on the list this year is with the mighty Polar Bear Club, who will be performing an intimate club gig on March 8th, right here in my hometown of Rochester, NY at local venue The Bug Jar! Sure to be a most phenomenal time, being up-close and personal with a band that usually plays to much larger crowds. There latest album, “Clash Battle Guilt Pride” is a genuine post-punk masterpiece, in my opinion, so getting the chance to see some of the songs off that record live will be a treat.

The second show of the season will be seeing legendary punk rock linguist/comedian/orator/preacher of all that is, well, legendary, Henry Rollins at the Town Ballroom on March 18th, in Buffalo, NY. I only recently stumbled upon the wealth of experiences and knowledge this man has released to the public, but better later than never at all. While not entirely sure how they’re going to pull off a sit-down event, the Town Ballroom is one of my favorite venues! I’ll be buying a digital recorder to save some memories at this one.

Thirdly, (and definitely not final for Spring 2012) I’m glad to say I’ll be seeing modern day metalcore masters, The Devil Wears Prada at the Town Ballroom with Oh, Sleeper, let.live and Every Time I Die on March 31st. Having seen TDWP several times before, I already know what to expect: A heavy metal beat down, by a force the strength of ten million pissed-off dragons. Nevertheless, I’m greatly anticipating seeing the sights and sounds of Oh, Sleeper, let.live and ETID, for the first time ever, who will be equally as powerful.

That’s forty million piping-hot, pissy dragons. I’m SO DOOMED, but so stoked at the same time.

Show-going season, this year, is headed out to a great start. Time to scream ‘til it hurts, push my way through the chaotic crowds, and live like never before through another set of shows for 2012. Let’s do it!
